Technology & Computer Training (18 years and older)

Join us for an introduction to basic computer skills perfect for building job skills!  This program takes place virtually - in-person classes are not avaialble. 

NOTE: This class is completed online and times vary.  Once registered you can sign-up for inidividual lessons that fit your schedule!  To receive a free desktop computer, you must meet eligibility requirements.

This class will teach you:

• Basic components of a desktop computer
• How to create a basic resume in Microsoft Word
• How to apply for jobs online
• How to create a household budget in Microsoft Excel
• How to create a PowerPoint presentation
• How to have a "tech-safe home"
• How to maintain and protect your computer

In need of a working home computer?  New Haven residents and New Haven Public School parents may qualify to receive a FREE home computer!

Elibility reguirements: Participants must be New Haven residents AND must NOT have a working computer in the house. 

Program Details: 

• Refurbished computers are provided only to eligible candidates.
• CfAL does not provide internet access.  Participants are responsible for providing internet access. 
• Each computer comes with a one year warranty and technical support. 
• All online classes must be completed within 90 days of receiving computer. 
• NOT completing online training within 90 days results in ending warranty and technical support.
