Participants must be 12 years to 18 years old when the program starts.
Mentors are assigned to support and help youth complete technoology projects that share their passion. All projects are share through personal websites. Youth projects may be videos, podcasts or coding projects.
Mentors will be asisgned to students based on interests, and can select which type of project they would prefer to support. For example, a mentor with videoediting skills can select to help a youth edit and post videos to his/her website. Another mentor my want to help one student with creatign a podcast, and another student with creating a coding project in Snap! All youth projects will be shared through websites created by Mentees. Basic knowledge of website development is helpful - and will be taught to Mentors as needed.
Mentors must attend a 2-hour virtual training week of June 29th. Mentors must be available to attend all youth sessions that mentees attend between July 7 and August 13th.
Session 1: Videoediting, Podcasts and Websites from 10:00am to 11:00am
Session 2: Learn to Code from 11:00am to 12:00pm

Join us this summer for a FREE virtual camp that teaches video-editing, podcasting, website development, and coding- along with weekly prizes and giveways! Each student will receive his/her own personal website and qualify for weekly prizes that include robots and more. Students that complete the entire program and submit completed projects to share will be eligible to receive a refurbished laptop/computer. Students are supported by college student mentors.
Students can sign-up for Session 1: Websites, Video and Podcast Creation and/or Session 2: Learn to Code in Snatch, Alice Animation and Snap! (Studnets are permitted to sign-up for both sessions, or may choose to only attend one of the two sessions.) The program meets three days a week, Tuesday through Thursday, from July 7th through August 13th.
Session 1: 9:300am to 11:00am
Session 2: 11:00am to 12:00pm
